Toconoco is a made-up Japanese word meaning ‘kids on the floor’. True to this name, the Japanese cafe is a family establishment. The setting resembles a warm living room with wooden furniture hand-built by the owner, colourful pillows and a ceiling adorned with tree branches. Guests can enjoy the view of houseboats on Regents Canal while their little ones play inside.
The menu takes inspiration from a Japanese canteen and boasts Asian breakfast dishes such as Avocado wasabi, egg miso mayo toast and various rice balls. There is also a big focus on sweets along the likes of Matcha blondies and cheesecake of the day (Black Sesame or Sancha flavoured, amongst others).
Pair your breakfast with one of their Japanese lattes or a pot of Asian tea.
