Hawksmoor Guildhall’s grand entrance is hard to miss, located next to London’s 800-year-old guildhall. Its elegant interior is rich in history; the private dining room pays tribute to the medieval history of The City of London and features a large oval table with leather seating and subtle lighting. The main dining room, underground, is large and carries an electric energy when full.

The breakfast menu is every meat lover’s dream, with dishes such as the McDonald’s inspired sausage and egg HK Muffin and a choice of steaks (what Hawksmoor is best known for) with fried eggs and hash brown. You may want to bring a hungry friend along so that you can order Hawkmoor’s signature breakfast for two, a feast comprising of smoked bacon chop, sausages, (made with pork, beef, & mutton), black pudding, short-rib bubble and squeak, grilled bone marrow, trotter baked beans, fried eggs, grilled mushrooms, roast tomatoes, HP gravy and unlimited toast.

Guests with a more relaxed morning schedule can opt for a cocktail with their breakfast, which makes for a more interesting start to the day than coffee (as suggested by the head bartender at the Savoy Hotel in the 1920s). There are plenty of tempting original recipes, including the Green Maria (Mezcal, Green Juice Blend, Lime, Ancho Chilli Liquer, Green Tabasco & Salt) and Marmalade Cocktail (Gin, Campari, Lemon Juice, Orange Bitters & English Marmalade).
